About Kaip Lloyd Associates   

We established our architecture and interiors firm, Kaip Lloyd Associates, in Chicago to provide custom design services for our clients. Our first commission in 1985 was a design, furniture and finishes remodel of offices and workspaces for a magazine publisher. Also, urban residential projects were designed and built. Our portfolio now includes a variety of building types and locations.

As experienced principals, we are both committed to being involved in all phases of our projects and are always available to meet clients, code officials and contractors. We collaborate with other architects, specialized consultants, engineers and draftspersons as required for each project.

We provide the architectural design services for new construction, remodeling, and additions for Residential, Religious and Commercial/ Mixed Use clients. Our projects locations are: Chicago, Hinsdale, Park Ridge, the North Shore, Evanston, the Northwest suburbs, Barrington, Long Grove, Lake Zurich and others. We have also served Chicago Catholic Archdiocese, Joliet Catholic Diocese and other religious denominations. We are now located in Barrington, IL.

About John Kaip

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively on commercial and religious projects that emphasize large volume spaces.  Prior to KL I was an associate, lead designer in a number of prestigious architectural firms.  I bring both the design and the technical capabilities of doing such projects as municipal buildings, concert halls, churches and assembly spaces to KL.  I am the licensed principal in charge of design and construction at our firm.

About Patricia Lloyd

I began my career in a well established architectural firm working on large commercial overseas projects. I then had an opportunity for hands on field experience.  I acted as both designer and general contractor for a conversion of landmark designated structure - a three flat residence became a two flat, a coach house near demolition was restored to an apartment and a garage. I then returned to the corporate world with new knowledge of design translated into actual construction. I am responsible for residential projects as well as interior architecture at KL.
